The supervisory board is responsible for overseeing network-wide training of early stage researchers (ESR) and for ensuring that scientific training is balanced with complementary skills appropriate to the needs of each recruited ESR. It leads the multi-disciplinary vision of the project and approaches, is responsible for the scientific content of the project and for the training programme. It furthermore decides on strategic changes in the consortium and plans in agreement with the European Commission. The board consists of all the supervisors, the project coordinator as well as external advisors prof. M.J. Mulvany and prof. J.A.E. Spaan, representatives from the associated partners and two alternating ESR representatives. The supervisory board meets at least one time per year in person and makes strategic decisions on all matters of concern to the network, in particular, training, research and communication activities.
The executive team consists of the project coordinator, prof. van Bavel and training officers prof. Sorokin and prof. Hecker. The executive team implements the strategic decisions of the supervisory board. In particular, operational decisions are made on e.g. student progression, network management, training activities, reporting, and finances. The team meets face to face during all network events and communicates electronically as many times as needed.
